CESO Development Consultants started, last January, the provision of consulting services to the Executive Secretariat of PIREP (Vocational Education Reform Integrated Program).
In the scope of the National Professional Qualifications System, the consultancy aims to contribute for the quality improvement of vocational education institutions in Mozambique and to establish a bridge between the education system and the labor market, by promoting a greater level of compatibility between work opportunities and students’ interests and abilities.
The project promotes the personal/social, educational, and career development of all students, assisting technical and vocational education candidates’ and students’ in making appropriate and judicious educational choices, which enable them to reach greatest potential and, simultaneously, serve the society and labor market needs.
Special attention is given to individuals or small groups by assisting them to select courses, make educational plans, and overcome learning difficulties and to prepare for post-secondary education/training or entry into the workforce.
The project involves a joint effort of several entities, namely with the Ministries of Education and Culture, Labor, Health, Women and Social Welfare. The consultancy institutional framework involves stakeholders engaged in the Vocational Education Reform, including the Vocational Education National Authority (ANEP) which will be the entity responsible for the definition of policies, strategies and priorities and for monitoring the implementation of the Vocational Education National Strategy. It also aims to encourage collaboration between community partners to assess human capital and community needs, as well as developing plans to address the economic, social, educational, and employment goals of the community.
Funded by the World Bank, this project is a partnership with CESO CI Mozambique.
