Besides existing difficulties related to the lack of economic and material resources to improve education, in order to enable the population to attain professional qualifications and to achieve employability, it is commonly recognized that, in Nicaragua, there are significant problems in the planning systems, organization, articulation and effectiveness that hinder the reorganization and modernization of the education system.
It is in this context that, between the years of 2011 and 2015, the Ministry of Education implemented the National Strategic Plan. The purpose was to provide effective changes in the education sector, not only in terms of quality, coverage and equity, that is, in improving pedagogical processes, expanding and diversifying educational provision and adult education, but also to promote changes in the field of institutional strengthening and, specifically, governance processes.
The Capacity Building for Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Integrated Management of Technical Education and Vocational Training project between the Ministry of Education and the National Technological Institute aims at finding solutions that will help national Effective and efficient management of technical education and vocational training, through integral management mechanisms, in terms of planning, monitoring and evaluation, as well as in the statistical management and orientation / management of information rationalization of Technical Education and Vocational Training.
With EU funding, the implementation of the project is led by DEM - Desarrolo Multilateral SL (Spain); In addition to CESO, SFERE - Societe Française des Exportations des Ressources Educatives (France), CIDE Consortium International de Dévelopment et Éducation (Canada) and SIMBIOSIS (Nicaragua) are part of the consortium.
This project is scheduled to be completed by November 2018.
