Align knowledge of concepts and tools for evaluation and implementation of public policies, was the aim of the Training sessions in “Policy Cycle and Public Investment" held by CESO in Sao Tome and Principe.
Promoted under the Project for Economic and Financial Management Support and financed by the African Development Bank, this action had the Ministry of Economy and International Cooperation as beneficiary.
The initiative is part of the structuring work of the National Planning System conducted by the Directorate-General of Planning (DGP) and was aimed at the training of technicians of services involved in the strategic planning of DGP and sectoral institutions linked with planning.
This was an action carried out and promoted under the DGP work and, in particular, with the Directorate of Monitoring and Evaluation to strengthen whether the monitoring and evaluation systems, as the planning instruments available in the country.
The evaluation of public policies, the role of planning to foster closer ties between citizens and policies and the preparation of a Project, were some of the themes included in the Training Program.
The activities ended with the presentation of the National Planning System under structuring and the reflection on the role that it plays in ensuring effective the implementation of public policies, through a more rational and strategic use of national resources.
With the participation of 21 technicians and having Rui Miguel Santos as Trainer (Senior Consultant and Executive Vice-President of CESO), the Formation was held last November.
