CESO is part of the international consortium which, from November, will provide permanent Technical Assistance to the National Directorate for Water of the Ministry of Energy and Water of Angola (DNA / MINEA).
Implemented in the framework of the Institutional and Sustainability Support to Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Service Delivery, the Technical Assistance aims to improve water sector governance in Angola, strengthen institutional capacity and efficiency of the sector's institutions and improve access to sustainable water supply and sanitation services, both at the central level (DNA) and at the level of seven target provinces, namely Cabinda, Cunene, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Namibe, Bengo and Cuanza Sul.
With the main purpose of strengthening DNA in its role of overseeing the newly created Provincial Water and Sanitation Utilities (PWSU), as well as in the monitoring and follow-up of the sector, the Technical Assistance will cover several thematic areas such as training and capacity building, human resources development, operation and maintenance, supervision and regulation of public services, institutional strengthening and organizational development.
Funded by the African Development Bank, the contract will last for 4 years and is expected to expire in October 2022.
