“The Global Compact asks companies to embrace universal principles and to partner with the United Nations. It has grown to become a critical platform for the UN to engage effectively with enlightened global business.”
– UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
CESO Development Consultants submitted the annual Communication (2016) to the UN Global Compact website.
The UN Global Compact is a leadership platform for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible corporate policies and practices. Launched in 2000, it is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with over 12.000 signatories based in 145 countries. The UN Global Compact asks companies to embrace, support and enact, within their sphere of influence, a set of core values in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment and anti-corruption.
- Human Rights
The UN Global Compact, considers that companies have a crucial role in protecting and promoting human rights, whether in what concerns the activities performed in the workplace or in the business area.
Under this chapter CESO has implemented two measures aimed at family support: Flexible working hours for employees who need to support sick relatives and a financial bonus for parents who have a child.
Also, as part ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification CESO is audited on the compliance with human rights principles. The strict observance of these principles is also a relevant to our main clients, such as the European Commission and the United Nations.
Health Insurance - Recently CESO improved the terms and conditions on the private health insurance.
- Labour
The UN Global Compact principles related to labour, advocate the elimination of all forms of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation, with regard to race, gender, age or disability.
CESO has been implementing and improving measures that provide health insurance to the employees.
- Environment
UN Global Compact advocates a precautionary approach to challenges that arise from the environment. This may be done by identifying potential threats generators of harm that can contribute to environmental degradation and by promoting a characterization, management and communication of risks and dangers.
In this area, CESO has put in place some measures to reduction of print volume of paper and have promoted the reduction of use of water bottles, introducing water dispensers.
In 2015, we renovated our office. Among the reforms, CESO installed a new lighting system using LED lamps. This change ensures greater energy savings for the company and better environmental quality for your employees. In order to increase energy efficiency and environmental quality, CESO renewed all the windows frames in the office and placed PVC new supports with double glazing that provides better thermal and acoustic insulation.
- Anti corruption
In its multiple dimensions (individual, institutional), corruption requires a clear response of rejection and condemnation in the business world. Compliance with the principles practiced internationally in the fight against corruption is guaranteed through audits that are done regularly in the company.
In more than 3 decades of history, CESO has no track record with incidents of corruption or bribery. Our quality management system is audited twice a year (one by an internal auditor and another one by an external auditor). The monitors make sure that we comply with internationally accepted principles in what concerns anti-corruption principles.
