The 1st International Workshop on Cultural Entrepreneurship Projects, with entities subsidized by PROCULTURA - Promotion of Employment in Income Generating Activities in the Cultural Sector in the PALOP and East-Timor, organized by the Technical Assistance to the Coordination of the PROCULTURA Action, took place in São Tomé and Príncipe, on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of May.
The grants were selected about a year ago and aim to promote the dissemination of music, performing arts and children's literature from the PALOP-TL, thus contributing to the increase in employment and income created in the cultural sector of these countries.
Over three days, the workshop had the presence of 16 cultural promoters, and online participation was also opened for all grants and their partners.
Participants from entities implementing grants in Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and East-Timor were able to present the main achievements and challenges of ongoing projects, thus allowing the identification of guidance and training needs of the entities, by Technical Assistance.
The workshop marked the beginning of closer work with and between projects, which should encourage the development of networking, through the sharing of experiences and the creation of synergies between the different entities and ongoing projects.
The Director General of Cultural, Mardgínia Pinto, the Cooperation Attaché of the European Union Delegation, Davide Morucci, the GAON coordinator, Nilda da Mata, and the Attaché for Cooperation and Director of the Portuguese Cooperation Center, Paula Pereira, participated in the closing of this event.
The international workshop was the first of two face-to-face meetings with the subsidized entities, organized within the scope of the Technical Assistance (TA) to the Coordination of the PROCULTURA Action that CESO has been implementing, since January of this year and until June 2024. The support component for TA grants, which includes these workshops as well as the implementation of a training and mentoring plan for entities, is being carried out in collaboration with ACEP (Association for Cooperation between Peoples).
