In the framework of the PL3P - Bridges and Partnerships in Portuguese Speaking Countries Seminar - the public presentation of the EuropeAID Studies in the CPLP Universe took place last May 23 in Coimbra, Portugal.
Promoted by the Portuguese Water Partnership, the Studies were coordinated by Rui Miguel Santos, Vice-President of CESO and Tiago Matos Fernandes, President of the Board of TESE - Association for Development.
Taking into account the different dimensions associated with the Water sector, the Studies begin with the collection and information analysis on the framework and opportunities provided by the European Union's financing modalities for cooperation and development support, focusing on the characterization of opportunities in the CPLP countries, namely in Guinea Bissau, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe and East Timor.
The event was part of the initiatives promoted by the Portuguese Water Partnership which, in turn, comprises a Portuguese-speaking institutional and business platform made up of public and private entities that are active in the Water sector. The main purpose of this platform is to "facilitate and promote initiatives focused on sharing experiences and disseminating knowledge on water issues between public and private entities in Portuguese-speaking countries".
The Seminar had also the participation of the President of AdCL - Águas do Centro Litoral, Eng. Nelson Geada, the President of the Portuguese Water Partnership, Alexandra Cunha Serra and with the contribution of Dr. Inês Jácome from the Working Group Of the AICEP Multilaterals.
