This 2015 edition of the Portugal Exportador had a special focus on the tools provided by the multilateral development organizations to support private sector in emerging and developing countries.
Celebrating a decade, the event is mainly directed for Portuguese companies, whether those small and medium-sized companies seeking to start its internationalization process, or those who already have export experience and want to deepen and diversify their potential in this area.
From this year's programme, we highlight the participation of multilateral development banks on the Workshop about “Opportunities for private sector in emerging and developing countries” which has counted with the presence of the World Bank Group and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
In this context, relevant information was presented on how national companies can participate in international tenders funded by the World Bank for the supply of goods, works and services, as well as access other funding mechanisms such as loans and equity, supported by the IFC. Companies seeking specific information on financing solutions and relevant investment projects in developing countries, had the opportunity for setting up bilateral meetings with both these institutions.
Since 2008, CESO has been a partner of this event promoted by the Portuguese Industrial Association.
The last edition took place at the Lisbon Congress Centre last November 19th. As before, CESO organized Thematic Cafes about Angola and Mozambique markets as well as about ”Accessing Tenders with EU funding in third countries” and presented studies on “Multilateral institutions of international finance” and “Logistics in Angola”.
CESO also participated in informal meetings with Portuguese entrepreneurs to provide information on the Angola, Brazil, Mozambique and Guinea Bissau markets.
