Américo Henrique Rodrigues Ramos dos Santos, was born in Seixal (District of Setúbal-Portugal), on 12/10/1945. Of Irish Celtic origin, he is married to Lucilia Fernandes de Andrade Ramos dos Santos. From marriage were born 4 children (Rui Miguel, Pedro Henrique, Miguel Ângelo and António Henrique) and 8 grandchildren (Nuno Gonçalo, Ana Rita, Francisco, Tiago Gabriel, Catarina, Alice, Clara Beatriz and Manuel).
Américo Ramos dos Santos is a Retired Full Professor of Economics at the University of Lisbon (UTL/ISEG), after nearly 40 years of public service. In 2023 he completes 60 years of Professional Activity.

Government Delegate on official missions to the Five Portuguese Speaking African Countries - Secretariat of State for Employment, 1984.

After retiring from the Technical University of Lisbon (currently the University of Lisbon), he took over the Presidency of the Board of Directors of CESO INTERNACIONAL SA, an international company providing consultancy services, with activity carried out, up to the present, in 118 countries and around 550 contracts executed.
He was also an Entrepreneur, Promoter and Director of several other private companies and study and research units, namely: “CESERVIÇOS” S.A; “AIANA INTERNATIONAL – TRAINING AND HEALTH CONSULTING, S.A”; “RSCA-Ramos dos Santos, Consultores Associados LDA”; “ITDC-INSTITUTE FOR TRAINING AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT CONSULTING SA; Cooperative “CESO-Consultores Internacionais-CRL”; Cooperative “Center for the Study of Economy and Society -CRL(CESO).
